French Star Soccer Player Karim Bezema take Retirement

The French striker Karim Benzema announced the end of his international career in a message that was posted on Twitter on Monday.

Due to an injury, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner was unable to represent Les Bleus at the World Cup in Qatar.

He still holds the French national team record with 97 selections and 37 goals.

The day after France's loss to Argentina in the World Cup 2022 final, Real Madrid's last Ballon d'Or winner revealed on Twitter that his time with the French national team was coming to an end.

The person who turns 35 on Monday played 97 games and scored 37 goals while wearing the tricolor shirt.

"I made the efforts and the mistakes that were necessary to be where I am today and I am proud of it! I wrote my history and ours ends,"

The center forward, who turns 35 on Monday, wrote the message and included a picture of himself wearing the jersey and being surrounded by a rooster.

This statement follows the conclusion of a World Cup from which he was forced to withdraw three days prior to the start of the match against Australia after being struck in the thigh during practice.

The French Federation estimated that he would need three weeks to recover (FFF). Since then, he has alternated between encouraging the French in social media posts and other, ambiguous statements, such as the one he wrote on Instagram soon before the final Argentina-France match, "I'm not interested."

The frustrating history of Benzema with the national team continued with this injury.

With the Tricolores, he has only ever won one competition, the Nations League in 2021, and was prevented from participating from 2015 to 2021 due to his role in the alleged "sex video" scandal.
